FameLab

FameLab is an international talent competition organised by British Council regional branches in South-East Europe aiming to discover new talents in the communication of science in Greece as well as in other Mediterranean countries. The idea of FameLab was initially conceived in Cheltenham Scientific Festival so as to “drive” science outside of classrooms and attract young people, passionate for science and technology, who would have the talent to share their enthusiasm and knowledge with the broader public.

FameLab aims at bringing out young talented scientists that could present their scientifically based ideas to the audience with an amusing and understandable way.

In the scope of Euroscience Mediterranean Event 2009 (ESME2009), a FameLab side event has been scheduled, titled “Meet Darwin”. This event would be in presentation instead of contest format, and 7 previously awarded FameLab scientists from Great Britain, Austria, Serbia, Israel and Greece will participate. George Zarkadakis, distinct scientist-author will be presenting-coordinating the event.
